Maybe you're at a crisis or crossroads--should I take/leave this job, should I move across country? Maybe you’re trying to figure out who you are, or maybe you know who you are but don’t know how to get there. Or perhaps, you want a deeper relationship with God, the Divine, the Universe.  My job when we start a session is go in empty, with no agenda, other than to be present with you and the Divine. I don’t have a system or 7 step plan to bring you to knowing yourself. I meet you where you’re at, tailoring what we do to you specifically. We may meditate. We will talk. I will ask you about your spiritual practice and may make suggestions to add to it.  I have a certificate in Spiritual Direction from Loyola University and I am an ordained rabbi from Hebrew Seminary in Skokie. I work with people of all faiths and no faith. I don’t have the “right” answers and I won’t fix you, but I will help you find your answers and walk with you if there are repairs you need to do.  Write, text, or call and we can begin to discuss how to proceed.

About Menachem
I work with anyone who seeks what makes them come alive and works to manifest it. I have a special commitment to supporting and affirming LGBTQIA people, sex workers, polyamorous/ethically non-monogamous people, pagans, kink/fetish practitioners, unhoused people etc. Not because people in these communities need to be saved, rather, in my decades in/with these communities I’ve experienced people feeling undeserving of spiritual care or fearing they’ll be judged by people giving spiritual care.  I earned a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Loyola University and received rabbinic ordination at Hebrew Seminary.
Special Interests: design and use of roleplaying games (like Dungeons & Dragons) in spiritual direction (1:1 & groups), people of all faiths/traditions or none, the spiritual but not religious, seminary students of all faiths.

 Beyond Interfaith
So many interfaith events are "you show me yours, I'll show you mine, we'll clap, and go home." Let's go further. Let's pray together. Let's together be shaped and moved by encountering that which is bigger than us. There is only one Divine in the world, for which we have different names, different stories, different operating systems. Praying to the God of one people has proven to be the path of death and destruction. Whether you call God Jesus, Hashem, Allah, Buddha, Nature, the Force, let's get together and be in the Divine presence. Let's stop fighting and killing each other in the supposed name of God. If I tell you a story, it will most likely be a Jewish one as that is my tradition, but I am prepared to work with people from all faiths and spiritual paths.
